The Health Service Psychologist (HSP) credential, offered by the National Register since 1974, is a distinction for doctoral-level psychologists. Approval requires submission and evaluation of education and training credentials, a thorough background examination, and verification of an active, unrestricted psychology license. HSP credential holders have access to all National Register benefits.
If you don’t meet our HSP qualifications, enrolling in this alternate program can still provide you with access to many National Register opportunities. For more information on program specifics and benefits, view the FAQ section below and benefit details above.
No. The National Register’s licensure mobility program is based on primary source documentation of education and training and is only available with the National Register HSP credential. Providing documentation of education and training is not a part of National Register Practice Academy enrollment and therefore we cannot verify any credentials to licensing boards or other healthcare organizations.
Yes. If you have had trouble locating your supervisors, are otherwise not eligible for the National Register HSP credential, and are looking for access to some of the National Register’s programs, this is a good fit for you. If you are interested in banking credentials with the National Register and to have access to all National Register benefits, you need to apply for our HSP credential.
No. The National Register Practice Academy’s benefits are items you already receive with your HSP credential. National Register Practice Academy members do not hold the HSP credential.
No. The National Register Practice Academy is a great way to access wonderful resources if you do not qualify for the National Register’s HSP credential. As a Practice Academy member, you are not banking credentials with the National Register and are not a credentialed member.
